Teenage girls face a range of barriers that can affect their participation and enjoyment in sport. Designed for coaches, volunteers, teachers and club leaders, this course explores the experiences of teenage girls in sport, helping learners understand what influences engagement and how to create more inclusive, welcoming and meaningful sporting opportunities.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the factors that influence teenage girls' participation in sport and physical activity.
- Identify common barriers that can prevent teenage girls from engaging in and sustaining participation.
- Recognise the diverse needs and motivations of teenage girls in sport.
- Apply practical strategies to create more inclusive and engaging sporting environments.
- Use the principles of effective engagement to help attract, retain and support teenage girls in sport.
