This course is designed for coaches, volunteers, officials, and anyone involved in sport who wants to create environments where everyone can participate and thrive. It explores what neurodiversity means in a sporting context and introduces the concept of neuroinclusion, recognising that true inclusion goes beyond physical access to ensuring individuals feel understood, supported, and able to engage in ways that work for them.
Through practical examples and reflection, learners will discover how small changes to communication, session design, and responses to behaviour can make sport more accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable for neurodivergent participants.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
• Explain what neurodiversity means and why it matters in sport.
• Recognise how different traits can shape an individual’s experience of participation.
• Identify how sporting environments can create both barriers and opportunities.
• Apply practical strategies to make sessions more accessible and inclusive.
• Reflect on and adapt your own coaching or delivery approach.
