Co-ordination and control are fundamental to the development of movement and sporting performance. This course introduces coaches to the key concepts of co-ordination and control, exploring how athletes acquire and refine movement skills. Through practical examples, learners will examine the factors that influence co-ordination and control and consider how these can be applied to create more effective coaching sessions.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Define co-ordination and control and explain their importance in sport.
- Identify the factors that influence co-ordination and control during skill development.
- Recognise how elements such as timing, rhythm, speed and accuracy affect movement performance.
- Apply an understanding of co-ordination and control to support athlete learning and development in coaching practice.
